Trees
Trees have progressively come to fill the role of key elements in my framings ; organic surfaces, ready to welcome the light in the painting, letting it play on their barks, their trunks rythmically dissecting the subjects, dissimulating parts of their environment or supporting the built elements like spines.
My preference for pinetrees becomes easily evident to the observer of my paintings, that mainly being, because they permit a wide variety of forms, enough empty spaces to let appear the background, as well for their capacity to colour the canvas with their ocre, purple tones, or even their warm greens. Recently, plane trees and their moon-coloured trunks, on which the light becomes more acid and cold, have found their place in my paintings.
